Job Title: Wisconsin Progress Fellowship (Western, Northeastern, and Southeastern Wisconsin)

Job Details:
Fellows work directly with candidates running for local office (county board, city council,
town and village board, and school boards) in their assigned regions. They will serve as a campaign manager/advisor to one or several local candidates, while acting as a liaison
between Wisconsin Progress and other spring campaigns.
The Fellowship position is $15 an hour at 10-15 hours per week pending the Fellow’s availability.
Job Overview:
Fellows will initiate the program by participating in a rigorous and paid training program with Wisconsin Progress staff before being paired with candidate(s) in their assigned region. Fellows will provide direct campaign services to support campaign(s) in their respective regions. They will write and implement candidates’ campaign plans from kick off to Election Day.
The Internship is designed to build and hone campaign skills and candidate management
experience that will serve as a stepping stone to future jobs and opportunities. Fellows will gain
the core competencies necessary to support candidates running for any level of office.
Wisconsin Progress will work with Fellows who complete the program in good standing to find job opportunities in progressive politics that match the Fellow’s desired career goals.
Fellows will provide ongoing, one-on-one technical assistance to candidates in the following ways:
Creating field plans targeting and conducting voter contact to engage the electorate through cutting turf, knocking on doors, making phone calls, etc.
Reviewing and submitting finance reports, developing a campaign budget, and supporting fundraising efforts by conducting donor research, staffing call time, and helping plan and manage events.
Developing messaging strategies and communication delivery for candidates, including literature development of door hangers, mail programs, letters to the editor, and more.
Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers.
Participating and presenting at Wisconsin Progress Advanced Local Elected training for local candidates.
General Requirements: The minimum qualifications, skills, and experience the applicant must have:
Fellows will be required to commit 10-15 hours per week throughout the spring campaign cycle to working with their assigned candidates.
Fellows should either live in or attend a college or university within the region they intend to work.
Applicants should have an interest in working in progressive politics and learning how to run campaigns. Previous campaign experience preferred, but not required.
Qualified applicants will have a foundational understanding how to use Google Suite, and be proficient in using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
Candidates for this position should possess strong interpersonal communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with others.
Special Requirements: Any additional or specific requirements that the job entails, such as certifications, licenses, travel, etc.
This position may require up to 25% travel time in regional Wisconsin counties and beyond.
Reliable transportation is a must to meet the requirements and demands of the role.
